Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair, who was only five at the time, had to become accustomed to being in the spotlight. In the beginning, she was a child model, then as an actor, she was chosen for the part as Regan the demonized girl from amongst 600 applicants in The Exorcist, (1973). Linda soon rose to world fame and won the Golden Globe, and seemed likely to receive the Academy Award for that role However, after it was revealed about the fact that some aspects of the character did not get done by Linda Blair (the demon voice was recorded with Mercedes McCambridge, and eight seconds from a stunt dummy employed) the dream was shattered in disappointment, which was probably the initial blow towards what appeared to be the start of a successful career. Through the years, she managed to secure leading roles in a wide range of movies. This included the acclaimed television series Born Innocent and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic and Exorcist II - The Heretic. In 1977, she purchased cocaine on the pressure of her peers at 18 years old, this resulted in being arrested and sentenced to three years probation. The widely-publicized bust for drugs caused Linda to be blacklisted by Hollywood, and her career was soon reduced to B-movies, and occasionally TV appearances as a guest
