Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox born December 25, 1954, Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox studied flute, piano as well as harpsichord at Royal Academy of Music London for three years throughout the 70s. Lennox's budget was increased by a stipend for students and part-time work. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance compared to her student classmates and was contemplating a different route she could take. Lennox joined a group called Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. But she quit shortly before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent contest. She sang lead to The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977 to 1980. That was also where she came across Dave Stewart with whom she would form Pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox began work for Diva in 1992, her debut album as a solo artist. Both commercially as well as critically the album was a massive achievement. Nostalgia Lennox's 6th solo album came out in November of 2014. The C.D. Lennox has selected her top jazz, blues and soul songs. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four songs that were improvised by piano that Lennox has released in May 2019. The E.P. This is the companion album to her Now I let the door open... art installation which was on display at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The album is her first independently-released album. After minor recognition as part of the group known as The Tourists in the late 1970s, Lennox and co-musician Dave Stewart went on to become internationally renowned as the pop duo Eurythmics during the 1980s. Lennox launched her solo career by releasing her debut album Diva in 1992. This was the source of several hit songs, including Why andWalking through the Broken Glass. Medusa a studio album which was released in 1995, features the versions of a few of her best-loved songs, including The No MoreI Still Love Yous (and A Whiter Shade of Pale).
